What is Sitesell
Also known as Site Build It?

Before I go into what Sitesell is, I want to share with you why and how I got interested in building a website like how-to-grow-success.com in the first place. So get yourself a hot cup of coffee or tea and prepare to embark on an amazing journey ;-).

The Why

A few years back, when personal computers were still in their early beginnings, when only a few households owned a PC, I got it into my mind that with the number of people you could reach through the world wide web, this new medium had infinite possibilities for education, as well as for income potential.

I dreamed of staying at home with my children and at the same time making a living. But I had no idea how I could do this. As it so often happens, I got side-tracked and I put my dream on the back burner. Soon I was busy being a Mom, wife, and ballet dancer.

As the years went by I began to ponder on what I would do with my life as the kids got older and I neared retirement from a ballet career. A renewed desire to take up my "old" online dream began to arise. So I decided to do some research on the web.

The How

How time flies...look at them now!

I found a lot of information, but I was a bit skeptical when asked to dish out hundreds or in some cases thousands of dollars for what seemed to be a coveted secret to building an online business.

There seemed to be endless pieces of the puzzle to fit together, and if I missed even one, or if I didn't know how or where to place it the whole dream and business would come tumbling down, as it eventually did as you'll read on.

I found a handful of good teachers and signed up for their mentoring course, but I did have to pay a good amount of cash.

Please don't get met wrong, I learned alot from these Internet Marketers. They were my first teachers and I am grateful to them. Simply put, I realized I needed more long term guidance, an ongoing supportive community and a more affordable alternative.

During my research I had come across a company called Sitesell (also known as Site Build It or SBI for short ) but didn't pay much attention to it since I was already enrolled in the online mentorship program.

This was back in 2004! Under my internet marketing mentors I was able to build my first site and run a test for a few weeks and it proved that I could make money from a site. But I still didn't have all the pieces together, and in 2005 my site went down.

I refused to give up. So I went back to searching. I remembered that I had read somewhere about a gentleman, Ken Evoy and his company called SBI or Sitesell. As fate would have it, it was my very mentor from the mentorship program that brought me back to SBI.

It turns out that I had signed up back in 2004 and had even downloaded several ebooks that this company, SBI, offered for free. So I began to read "Make Your Knowledge Sell" or written by Ken Evoy and Monique Harris.

In this ebook Mr. Evoy and Monique state that every one knows something about a subject they enjoy or have worked in:

"The Net is Knowledge. Knowledge is something we all have. Yes, even you! You know something that most people don't. Guess what? You can sell it on the Net. This book shows you how. All you have to do now is... Do it!"

This really got me thinking. I had just retired from dancing with the ballet company here where I live and was about to go back to school for some graduate work... surely I could share some of my knowledge on the internet - or Net as the ebook referred to it.

I didn't want to use up my savings this time, so I decided to do some serious research on SBI before making any decision. I was surprised to find out that they had more free ebooks available to the general public than they had 3 years prior.

A couple of the ebooks they had been selling before where now offered for free. (Mind you, they were not some out-dated materials. The ebooks were current with valuable up-to-date information. All those months of research had taught me quite a bit about the internet and a few marketing principles).

This struck me as generous for an established company, not something I often find on the Net. But the SINGLE most value of Sitesell is that you get a complete set of tools together with a step-by-step Action Guide to not only build a website but to build a real working and profitable business online.

Just look at the graph below. (Remember I'm a retired ballet dancer and a Mom that works from home. If I can do this anybody can - that means YOU too!)

My Alexa ranking as of today, March 27, 2009, is 761,175.

Alexa is a powerful tool used to rank web site traffic. The lower the Alexa ranking the more visited the site is. For example, Google is ranked as #1, Yahoo as #2, YouTube #3 and so on.

This means that my site is climbing the Alexa ranks due to constant and sustained increase in traffic, free traffic. This may fluctuate, but it has been climbing steadily since I started building this site 7 months ago!
