Purpose: What is Yours?

"If you want to be a real success in life you must have ONE
purpose to which all other purposes are Tributary."

-Elizabeth Towne
How to Grow Success, Chapter X

A purpose driven life, having a purpose in life, snowed filled road.

In her book How to Grow Success, Elizabeth Towne writes:

"You must have ONE aim, and all the actions of your life must be so governed as to assist in the one direction.

"This does not mean that a whole life-time must be devoted to a single pursuit; nor that you must have no other pursuits whilst you are following the one.

"But it does mean that no other pursuits shall come before the one - that you shall have no other gods before that.

...everything else must be dropped instantly and willingly, at its lightest call. Only so will [your dream] be a success. This is CONCENTRATION."

What is Your "Main Aim?"

  • Starting your own business?

  • Being the best Mom or Dad you can be?

  • Touching peoples lives through your work?

  • Working in the profession of your dreams?

Whatever your ideal or intention is presently, ask yourself:

  • Where am I now?

  • What have my goals really been up until today?

  • Do my actions reflect what I really want?

  • Are my thoughts in line with my goals and intentions?

You see, many times we say we want a certain outcome but our thoughts and actions don't match our goals or desire. We can get caught up in the details of daily life and lose sight of our true mission. But when our goals, thoughts and actions are aligned we become who we were meant to be!

Asking yourself specific questions like these will help you evaluate what you really want and determine appropriate actions AND thoughts to help you move in that direction.
