The Nautilus ezine] How to Grow Success - Happy Thanksgiving 2009!
November 27, 2009
Hello and welcome to...
The Nautilus Ezine
Self-Help Through Self-Knowledge
"Build thee more stately mansions, oh my soul!
As the swift seasons roll! Leave thy low vaulted past!
Let each new temple nobler than the last,
Shut thee from heaven with a dome more vast,
Till thou at length art free,
Leaving thine outgrown shell by life's unresting sea!"
-Oliver Wendell Holmes

1. My Favorite Quote!
This month I chose an inspirational quote from the book Just How to Concentrate, also written by Elizabeth Towne. As I was adding more tips for successful thinking and living to my site how-to-grow-success.com I realized all the amazing information Just How to Concentrate has to offer. So I decided to include this book to the site. (I'm still working on it). Expect it in a few months!
In Just How to Concentrate Mrs. Towne explains in full detail how to focus on what you desire in life - your life purpose - and aim at succeeding at whatever you set your mind to. Concentration and focus are traits you need in order to succeed.
So here's the quote:
You may turn all your attention and energy
upon the simplest work and make it a joy.
You may turn it all on a difficult piece of work
and make a success of it,
where divided attention would make it a failure.
You may turn all you attention
upon each thing that turns up
and so make life a succession of successes.
So how's that for a concentrated approach towards the work at hand? A positive attitude goes a long way!
And now for a surprise from one of our very own readers, Irene C. from Germany. This quote embodies the spirit of living in the NOW that Mrs. Towne teaches in her book
How to Grow Success.
So drum roll please...
Nothing is worth more than this day.
-Goethe
Irene C. from Germany
Here's an idea! Copy this short but powerful quote on a post-it and stick it on your bathroom mirror where you can read it every morning. Read it slowly and make a conscious decision to live each day to the fullest and see how your day changes.
Thanks Irene for sharing this quote of wisdom with us! If you would like to share your favorite quote (Elizabeth Towne's or from another author) with fellow HtGS readers, write to me through the contact page here You might see it in the next ezine issue of The Nautilus!

This month I have a book for you written in 1937. Vic and Lisa Johnson, owners of FreeTGRbook.com are giving away Napoleon Hill's Think & Grow Rich.
I've shared with you the life-changing ideas Mr. Hill wrote about in his book, inspired by Andrew Carnegie here. There's even a video where you can listen to him teaching his philosophy of success here.
I'm helping Vic and Lisa with their big giveaway and wanted to make sure you got your copy before they take this offer down.
Feel free to pass this on to friends. They can get one too if they act right away.
This is a must-read book. I know you'll love it!
P.S. Vic and Lisa are actually shipping these so you need to give
them your address before they run out. If you don't see the link above, copy and paste the link below. Details here:

From Bill Gates to Goldie Hawne...
How to Grow Success supports TED's commitment to engaging and forward thinking, and in doing so, I want to share with you some of the greats that have been generous in hosting some of the most provocative concepts - expand your mind - and grow as The Chambered Nautilus Poem (above) invites you to!
"Let each new temple nobler than the last...
Till thou at length art free,
Leaving thine outgrown shell by life's un-resting sea!"
This month I chose Richard St. John's 8 Secrets to Success.
With a quirky mix of wisdom and humor, Richard explores 8 common-sense and practical guidelines for success.
He answers the age old question: What Leads to Success? He asked several fellow "TEDsters" what their secrets to success are. And he's what he came up with. Enjoy!
