Hello and welcome to The Nautilus ezine!
The Nautilus Ezine
Self-Help Through Self-Knowledge
"Build thee more stately mansions, oh my soul!
As the swift seasons roll! Leave thy low vaulted past!
Let each new temple nobler than the last,
Shut thee from heaven with a dome more vast,
Till thou at length art free,
Leaving thine outgrown shell by life's unresting sea!"
-Oliver Wendell Holmes
Hello and welcome to The Nautilus Ezine June 2009 Issue.
First and foremost: to my readers who are using text to read this ezine, for some reason my links in text format are getting cut into 2 parts.
So if you can switch your email settings to receive email in HTML format, please do, otherwise you'll have to copy and paste the links. Sorry for this inconvenience, but for now this is the most viable solution.
Ok, with that out of the way, let's continue.
In this issue:
1. Favorite Elizabeth Towne Quote of the Month
The true art of living is only the art of letting - the art of being still.
Be still and know the I AM GOD within you.
Be still and let what you are into this act of NOW.
Rejoice in what you ARE, as well as in what you have.
-Elizabeth Towne How to Grow Success, Chapter VII, page 22
As I was thinking about what quote to include today, (it's hard for me to choose one, I like them all and I find such profound meaning in all of Mrs. Towne's writings) I simply opened her book and the quote above seemed to be staring at me ;-). I thought, "How appropriate for today, Father's Day."
And it ties in so well with the video I will share with you below, that I just couldn't resist.
The quotes above gives me motivation to find a special quiet time each day. I like to take a special time for being still, preferably early in the day.
When I wake up in the morning I take a few minutes to listen to the birds chirp and the cars in the street. I stay in bed and think about what I have, what I'm grateful for.
My vision boards are on top of my nightstand by my bed so I sit up in bed and look at them. I like reading each thought I wrote. I enjoy to slowly look at each magazine cut out and phrase:
"HtGS - my site is up." That's How to Grow Success - I wrote this before having my website up. Now it's a reality!
"Inner joy and peace," I definitely have that, much more than a few years back.
"I practice gratitude..."
and the list goes on.
Not everything on my board has materialized YET, but taking time each morning and during the day to look at it connects me to what I want to accomplish in my life and to what I have NOW.
This video was sent to me 3 weeks ago. I was truly impressed by this young man's courage, fortitude and integrity. Listen to the advice he has to give a group of high school students:
Be thankful
Find your life purpose
Love life
Be patient
You are beautiful just the way you are
and what a sense of humor! Ready? Here's Nick Vujicic and his amazing story.

Five years ago my father died after battling cancer for two years . He was an intellectual man and not always much for sharing his feelings.
During his final months it was hard to see him get sicker and whither away. But I was lucky that I was able to spend all my time with him.
Though it was painful to watch his health deteriorate, I grew closer to him during this time. I remember thinking how the tables had turned, how now it was me who was taking care of him.
I wondered what he was like as a young first-time dad. Of course, I have no recollection, but when I see my childhood pictures, his pride and joy shine through in every photograph.
So today, I want to pay a tribute to all the dads of the world, present and to those who have left us physically, but that are still in our hearts - thankyou.
Thank you for being my father.
Thank you for spending sleepless nights while I cried to be changed or fed.
Thank you for picking me up when I fell (literally and metaphorically)!
Thank you for working long hours to make sure I had plenty and some.
Thank you for making sure I was clothed, fed and had a roof over my head.
Thank you for encouraging me on my road to independence, no matter how scary it might have been for you.
4. How to Grow Success - Which Chapter are You Reading Now?
What have you read lately? What has caught your eye as you read Elizabeth Towne's How to Grow Success?
You downloaded your Elizabeth Towne's ebook recently and I encourage you to open up your file now, or if you prefer, print out the ebook, it's only 49 pages.
A good idea is to print one chapter at a time and read it carefully, making sure you understand each concept. (It took me several readings to begin to change my own thinking, but believe me, it is WORTH it). If you stick to reading and applying her ideas you will see extraordinary results.
So what chapter are you on now?
I've been re-reading Chapter VII - I Want and I Am. Why do I like this chapter?
My take away from this chapter in a few words is:
"Do not leave for tomorrow what you can do today."
I've been mindful to my thoughts or inner chatter lately and I discovered how I will often tell myself: "When I make 'x' amount of money, then I'll be able to..." "When I turn 50 then I'll do..." "When I reach 'certain goal,' then I'll do..."
Hey, wait a minute! Why do I have to wait until...? Where did I get that idea? Why do I need to wait till I turn 50 to celebrate my life? Why not at 49? Why not today? Who said you can't celebrate before? Who is stopping me?
The answer: ME!
No one else but me.
So now, I want YOU to think what's keeping you from living more fully, from doing something special in your life? This week think of ONE thing you've been meaning to do, but thought you had to wait until...
Quit promising yourself beauty, harmony or fun for some other time. Let go and enjoy the harmony NOW!
